Author Michael Kinsey arrives at Westwood Lake with his wife and young daughter, seeking quiet isolation to begin his latest project: a nonfiction retelling of the strange and tragic death of Ed Nyman, a local man who drowned in the lake decades ago—and who, according to some, never truly left. As he dives deeper into Ed’s past, Michael begins to notice unsettling details: whispers drifting from the shoreline, shadows moving where none should be, and a growing sense that the lake is watching him.
